I Made: A Little New Year Video 01/16/2012
Just wrapped up another big project at Little. Our annual New Year Card always ends up being my favorite piece of the year. And 2012 didn't disappoint. This one was even more special since it involved the entire firm. We asked employees, "What little thing are you thankful for?" And we got some pretty unique answers. After clients viewed the video, they were prompted to submit what little thing they were thankful for. We took their "thanks" and had them illustrated by different employees and added to our online gallery. I created two things to be thankful for... Add Comment I Made: A Digital New Years Greeting at Work 01/31/2011
As many of you know, Not Made in China is my "side gig." By day, I'm a graphic designer at an architecture firm. No, I don't draw buildings, use CAD, have glasses or wear black turtlenecks everyday. But to give you a better idea of what I am up to M-F, I wanted to share this digital holiday greeting I got to create at work last month. Using stop animation photography, we filmed the creation of a laser cut poster I designed, and then used minute and half video as our New Years "card" for clients. It's projects like these that remind me why I do what I do. Video Clips: Coming to America 01/17/2011
Martin Luther THE King. I friggin love this scene. Coming to America, top ten movies of all time. I can probably rehearse about 80% of all the lines from this movie by heart. Eddie Murphy at his best. The Dude on PBS's American Masters. I missed it last night, but it airs again in Charlotte Saturday at 8pm. Can't wait to see a documentary on this amazing actor, musician and artist. In the meantime, visit Jeff Bridges' website, it's pretty damn sweet. Music: Ok Go - White Knuckles 10/26/2010
Reasons this video rocks my socks: 1. Ok Go never disappoints 2. Clever use of Ikea furniture 3. They use the trash cans like the old cupstacking sport that originated in my home town of Oceanside, Ca. 4. Proceeds from video downloads go to ASPCA 5. Could the dogs be any cuter? 6. One f%^&ing take! Unbelievable. (it took 124 takes) Video Clip: Sesame Street / Old Spice Parody 10/26/2010
In case you missed it. Grover as the Old Spice dude. For many, Star Wars is religion. As is the case for musician Jeremy Messersmith and animator Eric Power. Recently, Jeremy enlisted his friend Eric to make music video for his song Tatooine (a reference to the fictonal planet in Star Wars). Using stop animation filming, paper and key scenes from the original trilogy, Eric created the masterpiece above. Video Clip: Kenny Powers Design Advice 10/05/2010
This short clip from HBO's "Eastbound and Down" cracked me up! Thank you Kenny Powers for voicing the plight of graphic designers everywhere. Need more reasons to love this show? Well, it's written by a guy from Concord, NC, filmed in Wilmington, NC and set in Shelby, NC! North Cackalacky Represent! Seriously gave me chills. Video Clip: KLM Airlines Installation Ad 05/20/2010
Clever promotion from KLM. They hired Ramana, a famous Dutch illusionist, to levitate in the Manchester airport. The stunt advertises their new "comfort" section aboard planes. Learn more here. | When life gives you hands, make handmade. January 2012 All Online
