Salivate Catering
business card designed by Nikki Mueller

Several months ago my good friend, Sally Wright, told the universe her dream was to start a catering business. And like many people who finally discover their life's passion, she wasn't exactly sure where to start.

We decided she needed a name first. Isn't it strange how things start to happen once you give them a name? It's like acknowledging their existence and decidedly saying, "Yes, THIS is what I do and THIS is what it's called." So one day, while driving home from work, I let my mind wander and started brainstorming possible names. "Sally... cooking... food..."  Then it hit me: Salivate (ok, maybe there were a few other ideas inbetween).

But, soon ideas were flowing. There would be an emphasis on the "ate." And then a business card with a bite mark came to focus in my mind. I was so excited, I mocked something up that next day. Sally loved it. Why isn't the design process always this easy!?!

That was all the jump start Sally needed. Now, in less than 6 months since she started, Salivate Catering is blossoming and her vision is becoming a reality.

I just love how her subtle southern charm translates into her food design. Sally's sister and business partner, Katie Wright, hand-writes all the food labels and signage. Gorgeous!
